Stand out dish: Slow roasted wagyu beef topside - It's as if the cow was on a strict diet of Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Marshmallows. The slices of sweetness simply melt in your mouth.

Entertainment Book Blog Review
M and I decided last night to try the seafood buffet at Cafe Opera. Since we've got the day off we decided to book for lunch instead of dinner and go for a stroll afterwards around Circular Quay.

Cafe Opera
Cafe Opera is located on the first floor of InterContinental Hotel. Compared to other hotel restaurants in Sydney, Cafe Opera is quite limited in its floor space, but the décor is elegant, and the high ceiling makes it feel more roomy than it is.

The Good: The presentation and selection of food here is top notch. Most of the seafood selection - Oysters, Tiger Prawns, Swimmer Crabs etc. were fresh except for the sushi station, it looked so uninspiring that neither M and I wanted to try it.

M was most impressed by the desserts especially Macarons. Overall, their food is above average in the hotel buffet scene, InterContinental is a five star hotel after all.

The Bad: The only slight let down was the service of one waitress that tried to clear our plates on two different occasions when we were still eating. She later on gave us the bill while we were having dessert. It is understandable for her to do this if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn't and the restaurant wasn't closing for another hour or two. In comparison the other wait staff were much more professional, so the overall experience was still positive and the quality of the food also helped a great deal.

The cost was $60 per adult for the lunch buffet. On par with other five star hotels in Sydney.
However $50 is deducted when The Entertainment Card (Sydney Edition) is presented.
Making the total $70 for 2 adults, an absolute bargain.
