Entertainment Book Blog Review
M has been bugging me for the longest time to take her to Cafe Sydney, but I've been secretly saving this place for her Birthday Surprise.

The table was booked weeks in advance, to make sure that we get the best view by the window. And what a view.

The decor is modern and elegant.

They have quite a list of cocktails from memory. This was an excellent pick by M.

Cafe Sydney Lychee Zombie Cocktail
Lychee Zombie - Bacardi 8yo rum, Le Fee absinthe, pineapple, lime, orange, passion fruit, lychee, Angostura bitters, sugar $21
M loved her fresh seafood entree.

Mine on the other hand wasn't as special as what I've come to expect from Cafe Sydney. The ravioli did not have enough goat cheese to make them stand out.

Cafe Sydney Entree
Deboned quail, prosciutto, goat cheese ravioli, zucchini, pea, smoked ham hock broth $28
M's Indian flavoured ocean trout was cooked perfectly, and the flavours worked well with the fish.

Cafe Sydney Tasmanian ocean trout
Tandoori roasted Tasmanian ocean trout, roman beans, coconut, lentil dumplings, raita $39
Cafe Sydney Dessert
Lemon curd panna cotta, strawberry, rhubarb, ginger crumble, curd ice cream $19
What about the surprise you ask? Here it is.

Diamond Engagement Ring
M's Engagement Ring
I was not myself the whole night, and was very nervous about my proposal to M, because she had absolutely no idea, and to be honest I wasn't 100% sure if she'd say yes.

The question was popped at a private location after dinning at Cafe Sydney.
A video I made for M from scenes of her favourite Disney movies was played - M still had no idea.
Then I played the guitar and sang her "Marry Me" by Jason Derulo.
It wasn't until the end of the song she finally started to understand what this was all about.
So I got down on one knee and proposed, after waiting for the longest 3 seconds in my life, she said YES!
(In her defence she was very tired that night and was half asleep when all this was happening)

More about the engagement and wedding to follow, stay tuned.
